The Daily Grind Blues

Uh, tired of those dailys/valor grind? You’re. Not. Alone.

Being someone who generally enjoys questing and doing dailys, I shocked myself at the end of last week. It’s something of an organized habit to take the three lvl 90s’ in turn, to begin each day with harvesting and re-planting their farms. Then one, and sometimes two, will get the call to muster their way through an onslaught of dailys. No real problem here, just time consuming since any one of the three can easily rack up 20-25 dailys.

Dufit has the added efforts of setting up and mastering an attack on the auction house. That requires some time every weekday morning as well. Last Friday when he finished up, I looked at the screen and said to self, “I am just sooooo tired of dailys right now.” Let’s face facts here. It’s a real chore to keep those three adventurers happy. They’re all like “Go-Go-Go!” and I’m like all “WTH!!!”

So I told them to get and go if they wished, but I was taking a much needed time out.

Off I went a’visiting. Yeppers. All them alts that had been collecting dust since the Pandaren invasion got to see some daylight for a change.

Two in particular stood out. One belf demonology warlock, and a lowly panda bm hunter. Levels 19 and 18 respectively. I haven’t yet raised a Panda class, so he was an obvious choice to run around with. Besides that, he had leatherworking. A profession I would like to see 600 capped out.

Leetan

The blood elf lock……well, just an untold story. She’s one other class I’ve never level capped out, so could prove interesting. Profession wise, she wasn’t into anything other than random gathering. So, like it or not, she is now charged with that elusive engineering profession.

Nokila

Over the weekend, both made noticeable and delightful progress both in character and skills. The lock actually became good at killing stuffs! So she was rewarded with the cool looking wolf mount from the vast stable of choices when she attained level 40. Yessir! 19-40 in practically no time at all. Gotta love that re-vamped leveling aspect.

Our little Panda hunter guy faired good as well. Leveled from 18 to 27 in the blink of an eye he did. He enjoyed his time of attention so much though, that he chose to add his own faction mount to the community stable. Really nice of him to do so. It pushed us up to 101 unique mounts! And his mount choice matches with his tanking companion as well! Now, what could be more enjoyable and awesome? I know Dufit was quite relieved over this. He can now slow down on his dungeon rep grinds for that panda faction rep.

So really now. If like many others you’re tired and bumming out over daily/valor grinds, go dust off a couple of lowly alts. I promise, the grinds will still be there when you’re all refreshed and ready to tackle them again.

Rainy Maintenance

It’s another damp, chilly rainy day around here. The kind that has a tendency to make bones ache and creak a bit, lol. It also happens to be a maintenance day, and combined with some rl stuffs that translates into a very limited game play window later this evening.

I pretty much like maintenance days, they provide opportunities for me to get into some in-depth blog reading, research of whatever’s got my attention and a host of incidentals. I go over “plans” I’ve made for various characters’ activities and generally attempt to get myself (organized?). Major challenge there!

Slightly serious though, with the vast amount of content offered and three level 90’s scurrying about soaking up as much as possible, we do need a better “Plan A”. We’ve got plenty of B’s, C’s and D’s in operation 🙂 Anyway, it’s something we’ve been working on this past week. Time, is a valuable commodity and we need to use it well.

Hence, no more running all three through a slew of dailys, everyday, for the sake of valor points. After all three have cared for their farms and gained their Ironpaw token for the day, one will get the call for a dailys run and they’ll switch off each day. This will leave time for one or both of the others to work on different projects. For example, Thdoria is the least geared of the three. On her off days from dailys, she could be venturing into some dungeons. Scary, but more effective I should think. Ay could really spend some more time farming his much needed ore stocks. Dufit could at least learn how to not get “chomp-chomp-chomped.” After all, he spent 1600g getting that invitation.

And of coarse, we’ve got the whole profession things going on. Blacksmithing, Alchemy, Tailoring and Enchanting are all skill capped. It’s high time to start making some money off of them, for all the efforts and money put into getting them there. And I happen to know a few alts sitting around gathering dust who could use a little helping hand.

Now then, I’m not very gold making knowledgeable, or an AH player. I know enough to use the Undermine Journal, and I do follow a few select gold making blogs. My AH history has been marginally good because of this, and a handful of luck tossed in. I do realize though, that this is a viable part of the game that provides some nice rewards. So along with some encouragement from blog readings, we’re going to venture into some attempts to fill our coin sacks to a “comfortable” level.

Our first inspirational steps came to us by way of reading Nev’s “20 Days of Goldmaking”. Formally considered useless for us, we’ve now installed Auctionator and LilSparky’s Workshop. It’s kind of like wiggleing your fingers in the bath water for a temp check before you climb in. Hopefully, our limited game play time this evening will allow us to get them configured.

I certainly don’t expect to compete with the real gold-makers of Fenris, but I do have my sights set on becoming “comfortably wealthy.”  Lol, I’ll let you know how much that is when I get there!!!

Dufit’s World, pt.2

Finally!

YES! After a bit of final Dark Soil farming last night, Dufit has managed to gain everyones’ friendship. Some of his last gifts included an orange tree, sheep, pigs and chickens. Everyone is doing well and the farm is producing fantastic crops daily.

Dog seems to enjoy all the new company.

Maybe 5 or 6 wandering about the farm.

Then there was this seemingly valuable gift of a Red Cricket, or so he thought. Dufits’ advisors over at the Undermine Journal suggested (several days ago) that the Cricket was worth an average of 10k across the board and around 8k in his world. At the time, there were two other offers up for bid hanging between 5 and 7k. Poor Dufit got no buyers on his 5.3k flat buy-out listing. 😦  I guess the probability of learning this pet and it turning out to be common instead of rare has made buyers skeptical.

Worth anything?

In the meantime, continuing serveitude for various factions are, well, continuing. 🙂 He’s reached revered status with the Golden Lotus, Klaxxi and Shado-Pan. Through some over-sight or crossed communications breech though, he is sorely lacking viable friendship with the August Celestrials. Upon discovery of this though, Dufit went into overdrive and managed to cover the “nobody-to-friendly” state of affairs in one swift round. He cannot be deceived though. He knows full well that they’ve got a long road to travel. His only stumbleing stone so far is his hesitation to enter the challengers ring at the Temple of the White Tiger. Hopefully, it’ll pass soon.

It’s been a good thing to be able to select some new enchanting and tailoring abilities, even thought the materials needed for some things are rather ‘hard-to-come-by’. The work ahead though sure makes those gold coins in his money bag a bit more shiney. If he wasn’t so attached to his coin bag, he could easily buy the next guild bank slot and barely feel the difference. So far though, he’s not parting with his coin without a fight. LOL!

Certainly not much to choose from.

We are given to understand that entry into the Brawlers’ Guild is by invitation only, through the Black Market AH purchase of an invitation or from a standing member within. Dufit hasn’t been to the Black Market AH lately. His last two visits provided only two items each time. Rather common items at outrageous prices! He wasn’t sure about the mail armored boots, but they didn’t appeal to him anyway. Anyway, time will tell. Maybe the BMAH will gain some stock to sell. Maybe he’ll get lucky with an invite. Unless the coin is in the bag, it’s all “maybe’s”.

Okay, time to go kill and gather more stuffs for everybody’s attention. Sheeze! Gotta pay them to favor a goblin.
