Tell me a story

Tell me a story

Every so often, Dufit has these ‘sit-down-chats’ with whoever is available atm. This particular Imperial Silkworm is the elder of 5. They’ve become so common that 3 sit in the gbank as possible gifts/rewards, and 1 in his bag in case he decides to be generous and give him to some newbie he encounters.

Yesterdays chat covered several small subjects. The first to come up was rather a common concern, Merchant Green-what’s-his-name, and the quality of his seeds for the farm(s). Apparently, both Ay and Dufit would like to have some words with him.

Ay's farm problems

Dufit's farm woes

Ay has taken a liking to his adoptive parents though, thinks they’re a right nice couple just hang with.

Such a cute couple :)

Such a cute couple 🙂

Other causal discussions included; the lack of LFR and Scenario involvement, the new nearly completed UI which everyone is on board for testing now and the new adventures into slightly more than casual gold-making.

That last one has been about 6 days of trial and error with the AH. Gathering up some older stores of things and testing the market. The outcome isn’t too bad considering. About 3.5k income for the time period. Since these were mostly older stock items, it’s been long forgotten about some of the crafting costs and such. A rough estimate using more updated costs showed a figure of perhaps 1k orginally. We’re expecting this to get better the more knowledge we gain along the way. Right now, we’re only working with 4 capped professions.

The first item, LFR,etc. Just a matter of actual playing time (early days/afternoons), and random latency. Things could be better all around so we just keep our hopes up.

The new UI work is about 80% complete and now in everyone’s hands to work with. Updated pics coming this week. Still tweeking out some of the addons, and then it’s on to some serious macro schooling. Later this week we’ll see how the hunter, warlock and mage like the set-up.

Last but not least, Puppy Updates. Currently working on how to set up a small video of the little whiners. Yep, they have become quite vocal now, and very mobile. It’s kinda like they hit level 20 and got their first ground mounts, lol! Anyway, it’s on the ‘promised list’, and is in progress.

The Trader

The Trader

Trader Jambeezi, well known to the horde crew and visited often. By the way, have you noticed some new inhabitants hanging around the Tiller’s Market? I came across a rude little gnome mage who claimed to have several wands up his sleeves and he’s not afraid to use them! He walked away “lucky” that day. Unlike a certain little “Tweets” some time back. Seriously though, what’s up with the new faces?

I usually get all my “quickie news” from MMO Champion. Surely by now, most folks have already gone through the 5.2 patch notes and updates. I’m sure that quite a handful are into the PTR as well. All is good on the Azerothian front.

I must also confess to being dependant upon many of the more experianced player/bloggers, who have a wonderful way of bringing information down to a more earthly level of comprehension. This to, is good.

Back to the 5.2 stuffs. As many others, I’m really looking forward to all the new content coming our way. My only regrets atm, are that I don’t feel I’ve experieanced as much of the current content as I would have liked to. Rest assured, much of that is due to my own particular brand of playstyle. One which is constantly changing and hopefully growing. Okay, it’s a mess. I bounce from one thing to another on a simple whim or sparkley that catches my eye. LOL, no real plan!

Some of the things I’m looking forward to include “buying my farm.” Don’t know about the costs yet, but with three (3) full sized farms harvesting and planting daily this looks like a good investment. Incoming orders from various factions? Sounds great! As long as they pay in cash and not lesser charms. I’ve got boat-loads of them stored up. Kidding aside, I love the farm(s) and my three pioneers will become owners in a heartbeat.

Other changes coming include the ever-so-popular Pet Battlers. Okay, this one don’t affect me personally, I’ve managed to avoid this quite well. It is notable though in that several of my blog aquaintances are deep into them and with quite a bit of success. Since I do follow their progress and stories, I’m quite happy they’re getting some new stuffs.

New quest hub, new factions, new raid/bosses to down!! Though I’ve yet to enter the raid scene, which would probably be LFR for me if I do, I am excited about all this and read/watch all that I can about it. Admittedly, I did slightly cringe at the thought of grinding out yet another faction rep. But I, (Dufit), has done it so well at faction grinding since MOP launch, it probably won’t hurt all that much. Right?

Faction tagging on World Bosses: A big improvement I think. Even on a PvE server, I’ve seen some of these world bosses instigate some world PvP. The faction tagging aspect probably won’t make any difference there, but I think more players will be willing to jump into a fight in progress knowing they’ll have a chance at some loot. I do hope though, that there is some sort of ‘check’ system involved so folks can’t realize any gain by jumping in 10 seconds before the kill. But, being able to tag a boss before the enemy faction does, even though a full group isn’t quite ready? Could be interesting to see how it all plays out.

And of coarse, there’s going to be the usual round of class changes to be had. These sorts of things don’t phase me out. Take them in stride, work with what you got/get. There is certainly plenty of experienced bloggers out there to help you over the hump. All it takes is a few minutes of your time and Google Search. And you’ll save yourself a lot of “/2 garbage handleing.” So when those buff and nerf bats start swinging, “Slow Down!”, it’s still a game and only minorly annoying pixel deaths.

“May your feet find good paths.”

Word of the Day: Random-ness

Random-ness: it’s been a bit of a chore lately to remain focused on any one thing. Can’t really pinpoint any one reason although the onslaught of dailys required to push three of the crew to level 90 may have to assume a chunck of accountability. Yes, number three (Thdoria), reached 90 yesterday.

You know about those rare occasions where your comp will suddenly decide to do a memory dump? So I got to thinking that if I dump some of this random-ness somewhere, things will naturally slide back into focus. Could work, maybe? Anyway, that’s the meat of todays’ post. lol, you stand fore-warned!

Rep Grinds

Rep Grinds

Dufit was so happy to finally finish off the Golden Celestials and Shado-Pan rep grinds. He really thought he was done with dailys now, unless he chose to pad his Valor point holdings. Oops, wait a sec….there’s one more kinda hidden rep to be had, Huojin Pandaren. Sheeze! Go buy a tabard and run some dungeons. All this just to possess a kite. In the meantime, he’s been wading his way through the Domination Point battle zone, usually flagged. Such a blood-thirsty goblin when it comes to Alliance. Not much fighting though. Easy base/tower captures since Alliance apparently prefers not to fight. The story lines have been very interesting though, as dislike and distrust of Hellscream is on a steady rise with several horde factions. No spoilers here folks. Go do the dailys and story quests as they come. Even if you don’t pvp, the dailys are relatively easy and you’re getting a lot of background for what’s to come.

I’ve attempted to raise several baby healers of assorted backgrounds. None have gone past lvl 15. Now, I’m certainly not one of the better players around, but I have managed going from spellcasters and ranged dps to somewhat moderate success on with melee. That only leaves the healing spec left to try and attain some level of success at.

Got to thinking this morning, hey, I’ve got two level 90 shadow priests without an off-spec. Although I’ve been there before, I went back to Icy Veins to refresh myself over disc priesting. Holy swirling mists soups! There’s just bunches of things to learn how to manage as a healer. Am I really thinking straight in suddenly popping a lvl 90 into the spec? Or should I go back to attempting to raise one from a baby? IDK! Let me know what you think, especially if you’re a healer. 🙂

Dufit needs to make a set of gear for Thdoria. Her quest gear just is not cutting the scene. Aygaren is doing much better at staying alive since his visit to Mr. Robot. If he gets his valor points up and some better gear, he just might be a ret pally to deal with.

Other than those minor details, I’m looking at an overhaul of my UI. It’s been useful for some time and I’m not really unhappy with it as is. I’m just looking at some improvements with different add-on’s to use, and re-positioning. My UI has slowly developed over some seven years. The current set-up has been in place since early Wrath. Maybe it’s just time for a change of sceneary. I would like to get some auras in play and perhaps move my rotation buttons to a more useful real estate area. It’s a slow moving project, I’m being very picky about what to do and when.

That’s about it for now. The crew is doing well, well, most of them are doing well. lol It may be awhile yet before some of them see any progress.

Watching the fight

Watching the fight

Oh, and from a safe distance, Dufit watched a group fight the Sha of Anger. He’s been tempted to attempt the fight. Very interesting fight. The Sha killed many people, several times over. Guess Dufit better make sure his standing with the repair folks don’t fall apart.
